IMP & MAKER came to MARCA with a bloated and fragmented tech stack after multiple agencies had layered tools, apps, and logic onto the store without a clear long-term strategy. This created operational friction, slowed the team down, and limited their ability to confidently scale.
Alongside this, the website needed to perform better at key decision moments. The challenge was not just to improve conversion, but to bring clarity, stability, and commercial control back into the business, while upgrading the brand’s on-site experience.
We approached this as both a commercial and operational rebuild.
First, we simplified and stabilised the tech stack, removing unnecessary complexity and creating a clearer foundation the team could actually work with. Given their Dragon’s Den exposure, we also provided extended out-of-hours support to ensure performance stability during traffic spikes and implemented advanced bot protection to protect revenue.
From there, we focused on profit-driving UX improvements.
We enhanced PDPs to improve clarity, trust, and decision confidence, introduced split shipping so customers could send multiple hampers to different addresses in one checkout, built a dedicated corporate gifting portal to unlock higher-value B2B orders, and rolled out new features shaped around real buyer behaviour.
Finally, we shifted from one-off changes to a long-term optimisation engine. We are now building a structured hypothesis bank and 12-month A/B testing roadmap focused on profitability, not just surface-level conversion.
Instead of focusing only on conversion rate, we aligned the project around long-term profitability.
We are now measuring success through:
- Contribution margin
- Profit per session (AMPU)
- Funnel conversion improvements at PDP and checkout
